Vigneto Poggio Doria Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva
Brunello Riserva Poggio Doria produced by Silvio Nardi winery is the CRU of Brunello di Montalcino obtained from Poggio Doria vineyard, located in the north-west part of Montalcino, within Tenuta Casale del Bosco estate. The resulting Brunello is called "the wine of sunset", as it comes from the western vineyard of Silvio Nardi estates. Sangiovese harvest is usually performed in the second week of October. Fermentation and subsequent maceration of the grapes take place at controlled temperatures, then the obtained wine refines for 18 months in French oak barrels (Allier) of first and second passage, followed by 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. Before being on the market, the wine is further refined in the bottle for at least 36 months.
Ruby red color with garnet highlights. Ample and highly complex flavors at the nose develop then to mineral notes of graphite, fruity tones of red berries and spicy aromas of clove and vanilla. Long and balanced at the palate, smooth and persistent notes bring to the elegant end characterized by present and velvety tannins. We suggest serving it at 18-20 °C.

Tenute Silvio Nardi
The history of Silvio Nardi winery is linked to the history of Brunello di Montalcino. Evertyhing started in the fifties, when Silvio Nardi - owner in Altotevere Umbro of one of the first not only Italian companies of agricultural machinery, founded in 1895 - bought the estate of Casale del Bosco in Montalcino. The first "foreigner" to invest in the wine sector in Montalcino, still an unknown country, Silvio Nardi baptizes the first bottle of Brunello from the cellars of Casale del Bosco.
