Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Torre D'Orti
Torre d'Orti Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG is produced from Corvina, Corvinone, Rodinella, Oseleta grapes, which grown near the observation tower of the Castello di Montorio (from which the company name is inspired). After a manual harvest in crates, the grapes are dried in a structure located at 300 meters above sea level, where the favorable climatic conditions allow to pursue a natural drying according to the dictates of the ancient tradition called "appassimento". After drying, the traditional fermentation is carried out with a mixed of pumping overs and delastage for about 15-20 days. Once the wine is drawn off, it is transferred to first-pass French oak barriques. The refinement continues for 12 months in small barriques, before moving on to a large barrel, to completes its refinement.
Torre d’Orti Amarone has a lively, brilliant, deep red colour. A wine with an intriguing intense, ethereal, fruity bouquet of plum, blackberries, sour-cherry and sweet spicy nuances recalling of cinnamon. A charismatic personality, velvety tannins and a long echo of enchanting softness - despite the high alcoholic content - make this wine complex and well-balanced, with a remarkable aging potential. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 20 °C, taking care to uncork the bottle at least one hour before serving.
