Antica Chiusina Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano DOCG
Antica Chiusina Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG is the masterpiece of Fattoria del Cerro. It embodies the best of the wine production and it is produced only in the best vintages, thanks to the natural vocation of the Montepulciano area, and the finest maturation of Sangiovese grapes, here called Prugnolo Gentile. The harvest is manual in boxes and carried out separetely depending on the different plots of the vineyard. After fermentation with maceration in steel for 12/15 days at a controlled temperature with daily pumpings over and délestages. Post-fermentative maceration is performed out at 29 °C, then the wine and is transferred to French oak barriques of first and second passage for malolactic fermentation on fine yeasts. The wine ages for 18 months before bottling. Refines a few months in the bottle.
Its color is intense, of rare depth and finesse. Its aromas and taste are magnificently elegant and powerful at the same time, with notes of red fruits such as cherry, currant, raspberry, tobacco and cloves. The woody note of the barrique does not cover the flavour, but enhances the fruity scents. Warm and full-bodied, characterized by a dense tannic texture and a good persistence. Antica Chiusina settles at the highest qualitative levels of Nobile di Montepulciano for its very pleasant character. Its aging potential is estimated up to 15 years. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 16-18 °C.
