Maìa Vermentino di Gallura DOCG Superiore
Maìa is the first wine produced by Siddùra winery, through an accurate selection of the best Vermentino grapes. The particular type of soil deriving from granite stratification, together with an optimal microclimate, have contributed to the realization of a Vermentino which recalls the Gallura area, as the name suggests.
After de-stemming, the grapes macerate few hours before starting fermentation at a temperature of 13-15 °C for about 15 days. The must matures on noble lees in large part in steel tanks, while a small percentage ferments for a few months in French oak barrels, before being bottled for a subsequent refinement of a few months.
The name "Maìa" derives from the Gallura word "Maia", ie Magic.
Maìa shows golden tones and straw-yellow undertones. Delicate aromas of tropical fruits and citrus fruits emerge on the nose, followed by small ripe white fruits and delicate spicy notes in the background. Fresh, very savory, well balanced, good body and a nice aftertaste of bitter almond, typical of the grape. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 10-12 °C.
