Civitella Rosso Lazio IGT BIO
Civitella Rosso IGT Lazio of Sergio Mottura winery is fine blend of Merlot 80% and Montepulciano 20% grapes, grown in the "Colle Rosso" vineyard, located in Civitella D'Agliano area (VT). The wine is worked in steel, to better enhance the fruity qualities of the two varieties. After the alcoholic fermentation at 28 °C in steel, crushing and pumping over are carried out several times a day, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine ages in steel for about 6 months and a further 2 months in the bottle. This wine has obtained the Organic certification.
When opened, it has a beautiful ruby red colour. On the nose the Civitella Rosso expresses hints of red and black fruit with spice hints. Notes of tobacco, pepper, roasted coffee and mint together with floral note, red roses and liquorice. The palate is full-bodied, fresh with distinctly fruity final. The tannin is elegant, almost crunchy. We recommend serving this wine at a temperature of 16 °C.
