In the Cilento National Park (areas never touched by intensive farming), San Salvatore 1988 winery takes care of the earth by following its vocations. Winemaking processes are studied integrating them with soil-specific agro-environmental characteristics, to enhance a unique microclimate, a hilly and mountainous zone with high biodiversity, rich in minerals and persistent sea influences, and an ideal solar exposure. This wine is made from 100% Falanghina grapes, grown in Porconero Estate, in Giungano. The wine ferments in steel and it is refined in steel for about 8 months.
Porconero Falanghina has a pale straw yellow colour, with greenish undertones. On the nose stand out floral notes, with slight hints of green apple and pear, together with broom flowers. In the mouth is mineral, almost salty, characterized by great persistence and complexity. We recommend serving it at 8-10 °C.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
Falanghina is the ideal wine in combination with seafood. It also successfully pairs with fried fish, seafood risotto or baked fish with delicate sauces, as well as shellfish and white meat. It is nteresting the combination with soft cheeses, such as goat cheese or buffalo mozzarella from Campania.
San Salvatore 1988
Our company was founded in the heart of the Cilento National Park , an ancient land , rich in history and tradition, never touched by intensive agriculture . The winery is located in the same area where the Ancient Greeks began the colonization of Magna Grecia and where for the first time brought Aglianico , Fiano and Greco grapes. Their vineyards were located in the same places where nowadays are located ours.
Our philosophy is to produce wines respecting the nature and traditions and in our products carry the history and flavors of this land.
