San Vito Roero Arneis DOCG
San Vito Roero Arneis DOCG is white wine from Piedmont, produced by Pelassa winery, whose grapes come mainly from Pelassa's vineyards located in San Vito small village, nearby Montà d'Alba. After a manual hrvest in mid-September, the crushed grapes ferment about 12 days at 16 °C and remain on noble lees about 6 months before bottling. The obtained wine is refined for the next 2 months in the bottle before being released.
Intense straw yellow colour. The nose opens with a delicate, complex, persuasive, floral fragrance that recalls broom and chamomile flowers, with light essences of honey and white fruits jams. The taste is dry, harmonious, with a pleasant acidulous vein that gives freshness and persistence. Very natural is its natural minerality, typical of the Arneis from Montà d'Alba. Due to its complexity, Roero Arneis has often been described as a "White Barolo". We suggest serving it at a temperature of 10-12 °C.
FOOD MATCHINGS SUGGESTIONS
Pelassa's Roero Arneis pairs with appetizers and fish dishes; it is excellent when served as aperitif.

"In April 1950, I was not yet ten years old. We were six brothers, my mother was gone and our family was very modest. Then, I realized that it was time to help out, so one morning I got up early, tapped some flasks of Nebbiolo, I took the bike, cycling towards Turin... a man suggested me to go to Superga hill, where I would find people who could appreciate the valuable thing I was carrying with me... I still remember the expression of awe, as generous and elegant could be a wine.
