Montefante Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG Riserva
Montefante Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG Riserva is an extraordinarily elegant Amarone Riserva, produced by Farina winery and obtained from native Veronese grapes (45% Corvina, 30% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella, 5% Molinara, 5% Dindarella), grown in the homonymous vineyard on the hills of Castelrotto in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica. After harvesting and manual selection, the grapes are subjected to natural drying for about 100 days in well-ventilated drying rooms, under controlled temperature, humidity and weight loss. This drying process is followed by crushing, destemming and spontaneous cold maceration for about ten days, before a slow fermentation of about 1 month. The obtained wine is aged 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels, plus 24 months in barrique and then it is transferred in the bottle for a final refinement.
Montefante has an intense garnet red colour. Very rich, deep and complex aromas of raspberry jam, blackberries and prunes are mixed to spicy notes of pepper, coriander and cinnamon. On the palate it gives an energetic, harmonious, captivating sip, with an incredible roundness and sweet tannins. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 18-20 °C, taking care to uncork the bottle an hour before serving. This Amarone gives great emotions even with an aging of several years.
