Cerequio Barolo DOCG
Michele Chiarlo's Cerequio Barolo is one of the historic CRU of Barolos, at the top of all classifications: Fantini 1880, Veronelli 1960, Ratti 1961, up to Slow Food "The most beautiful concentration of the great cru of the Langhe ..." ( Carlino Petrini 1990). Obtained from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the vineyards around the villages of La Morra and Barolo, this great Italian wine is one of the most famous icons produced by Michele Chiarlo winery.
After a manual harvest, the grapes ferment in 55hl oak vats, with 20 days of maceration in contact with the skins and soft wetting of the cap with the "shower" system at a temperature between 30 and 27 °C. It follows vat malolactic fermentation and refinement for at least 3 years, 2 of which in oak barrels of medium capacity before the bottle ageing.
This wine has been certified by V.I.V.A. "SustainableWine" certification.
Garnet ruby red colour with brilliant highlights. On the nose you can smell notes of ripe red fruits, mint, eucalyptus, gentian and very fine spices. Barolo Cerequio is unique for its balsamic vein and elegance, for its sweet and fine tannins, for its fruity and sublime taste even in full maturity. It stands out for elegance and harmony, making this great CRU truly unique. It reaches its peak from 6 years onwards and it is beautiful for at least 20 years. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 18 °C.
