Costarenas Vermentino di Gallura DOCG Superiore
Costarenas Vermentino di Gallura DOCG Superiore is produced by Masone Mannu winery in the Monti area, in the province of Sassari. Here the soil is mainly composed of granite sands, rich in iron and with a good clay component, which give the wine great minerality and freshness. Costarenas' Vermentino grapes growns in a 35-year-old vineyard and are harvested by hand in boxes in the second half of September, when the sugar concentration is reaches high levels. After a soft pressing, must ferments in stainless steel at controlled temperature and refines at least 5 months on its lees with frequent batonnages. plus 1 month in the bottle.
Costarenas has a consistent and bright straw yellow colour. The nose offers intense aromas of white fruits, enriched by tropical and citrus touches, as well as very pleasant marine and menthol notes. In the mouth its taste is fresh, showing good intensity and personality, thanks to an excellent acid, savory and mineral vein that support the tasting. It closes with the typical bitter almond aftertaste. We suggest serving at a temperature of 10-12 °C.
