Salmariano Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Classico Riserva
Salmariano is a Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Riserva DOCG produced by Marotti Campi winery, which is located nearby Morro d'Alba. The harvest of Verdicchio grapes is late, usually carried out by hand in boxes. The vinification process involves a gentle marc pressing, with short marceration on the skins. The crushed grapes ferment for 12 months mostly in steel tanks at 15 °C on noble lees and a small percentage (20%) refines in small French oak barrels.
Verdicchio Salmariano has a brilliant straw yellow colour with golden undertones. On the nose, an exquisite floral bouquet of broom, elderflower, marine and mineral notes, together with a touch of vanilla. It is a white wine with great aging evolution. On the palate it shows great structure; acidity supports the fruity background. Great balance and long finish. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 14 °C.

Marotti Campi is a family business founded in the mid-1800s, when the Marotti family bought a property in the Sant'Amico district of Morro d'Alba. They built a villa in the center of the sharecropping estate and the first vineyard was planted by Cesare Marotti in 1886. At the time the main crop was wheat, but over the years and with the various generational passages, the Marotti family introduce the viticulture as main crop.
