Maralba Ribolla Gialla Collio DOC
Russiz Superiore's Ribolla Gialla by Marco Felluga is obtained from 100% Ribolla Gialla grapes, grown in the small villages of Oslavia and Capriva del Friuli, in the DOC Collio area. After harvesting the grapes are separated from the stalks. The must and pulp undergo a cold maceration on the skins followed by a light pressing to separate the skins. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel temperature controlled tanks. The wine thus obtained is left to refine some months on the lees before being bottled.
Straw yellow in colour. It is characterized by a fresh bouquet in the wider sense of the term. Elegant and intense with a floral and fruity background of exotic fruit, grapefruit and apple. It is pleasant and balanced in the mouth, with a very interesting extractive body, which gives an excellent freshness. We recommend serving it at a temperature of 10-12 °C.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
Ribolla Gialla is an excellent Friulian white wine to be enjoyed as a fresh aperitif. For its slightly sweet tip and its lively aromatic aromas, it pairs well with fish-based dishes such as salmon trout, or sweet-tasting fish dishes, such as shrimps risotto or shellfish and sea-food appetizers. Great also with delicate white meat, like rabbit and calf.
More than a century has passed, since the first Felluga crossed his history with wine. The island of Istria was the place of origin of Malvasia and Refosco d'Istria productions. Just after the Great War, the family get to the other side of the gulf, to Grado and then in Friuli.
