Friulano Collio DOC
Marco Felluga's Friulano is made from pure Friulano grapes, grown in the municipalities of Farra d'Isonzo and San Floriano, in the Collio DOC area. After the harvest, grapes are separated from the stalk. The juice and the pulp undergo cold maceration, soft pressing, followed by fermentation in steel tanks. The obtained wine is refined for about 6 months on the lees and a few months in the bottle.
It has a straw-yellow color with a bright greenish undertones. Perfumed bouquet, which opens to the nose with intense notes of almond, hawthorn and chamomile flowers, leaving room for more herbal and mineral hints. A good structure is immediately evident in the mouth; the wine is soft and enveloping. The alcohol content is well supported by a fresh and savory vein. Pleasant persistence in the finish. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 12 °C.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
From the aperitif to cold appetizers, this elegant Friulano white wine goes well with cold cuts, in particular with San Daniele Prosicutto Crudo, as well as first courses based on vegetables, white meats and elaborate fish dishes. Try it also in combination with asparagus and fresh herb omelettes.
Chosen for you
More than a century has passed, since the first Felluga crossed his history with wine. The island of Istria was the place of origin of Malvasia and Refosco d'Istria productions. Just after the Great War, the family get to the other side of the gulf, to Grado and then in Friuli.
