Pomino Pinot Nero Pomino DOC
The Frescobaldi Pomino is made from Pinot Nero grapes, grown in the vineyards of Pomino Castle (Rùfina). After about 20 days of maceration, the must undergos malolactic fermentation, immediately after the alcoholic one. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for about 12 months and further 4 months in the bottle.
It shows immediately a brilliant ruby red and clear rich colour. To the nose is complex and elegant, bringing out an intense forest of aromas characterized by red currant, raspberry and violet that goes very well with its balsamic hint of mint. The final is an unexpected riot of leather and toasted notes of chocolate and coffee. The tannins, silky and vibrant, gives it a perfect final balance.
