Rossese DOC Riviera Ligure di Ponente - Riviera dei Fiori - of Fontanacota winery takes its name from the French word "roché", due to the rocky soil on which it is grown, in Valle Prino upstream of Porto Maurizio (IM) Fontanacota. After a manual harvest, the grapes are carefully destemmed and the fruit is then crushed. Fermentation is carried out for 4-5 giorni at 26 °C. Then follow yeast inoculation and malolactioc fermentation for 10 days. The wine is aged in steel tanks for 5-6 months and refines a month in the bottle.
The Rossese DOC Riviera Ligure di Ponente has a ruby red colour (garnet if aged). Aromas are intense and continuous, caracterized by a large bouquet of red berries, cherries, rose hips and spices. Sapidity, freshness and elegance to the palate. Full, persistent and round flavour with a soft bitter vein in the finish.

L'azienda agricola fontanacota, è nata nel 2001 da una realtà agricola già esistente. La struttura aziendale si compone attualmente di due distinte tenute, la più grande situata in Val Prino (IM) e la seconda a Pornassio in alta Valle Arroscia (IM).
