Scaccomatto Romagna Albana Passito DOCG
Scaccomatto is one of the wines that has made Fattoria Zerbina famous for its peculiarities and finesse. Scaccomatto, as well as Arrocco, is a sweet wine made from Albana grapes carefully selected in the vineyard before winemaking process, with a distinctive trait: the harvest is carried out late and in several stages, to allow grapes drying on the plant and the attack of pure noble mould. The must macerates in small steel tanks and, in some cases, in used French oak barrels, completing the refinement in steel tanks of small capacity (only in some years in used barrels).
Scaccomatto has a deep gold colour. On the nose you can notice citrus notes of candied orange peel, but also spices such as saffron, as well as acacia honey and apricot. Its bouquet is always very clean and refined, precise and linear. In the mouth the wine is full, well-structured and enveloping, opulent but of excellent freshness. It's very persistent in the finish. We suggest serving this fresh wine at a temperature of 10-12 °C.
