Anthìlia Catarratto Sicilia DOC
Anthìlia is a modern white, fascinating and immediately pleasant, characterized by a fresh and fragrant bouquet. The label represents the face of a woman, mysterious and fleeting like the Elymian civilization. Anthìlia is the name given to the city of Entella on the top of the Rocca in Roman times. Today, Anthìlia is the name of a wine that is identified with the ancient territory where it has its roots. It is the first wine to have been conceived at Donnafugata and still remains to this day in the hearts of many admirers.
Made from a blend in which Catarratto grapes prevail, along with other native and international varieties, all the grapes come from Contessa Entellina Estate. Fermentation in steel at a temperature of 14-16 °C. Aging in tanks for 2 months and then at least 3 months in the bottle.
This Sicilian white has straw yellow colour. The nose offers a fresh and fruity bouquet with notes of white-fleshed fruits (peach and medlar) combined with scents of Mediterranean scrub. On the palate we find the evident fruity note again, refreshed by agreeable sapidity. It finishes with good persistence.We recommend serving it at a temperature of 9-11 °C, uncorking it at the moment of pouring.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
This is the ideal wine ofr the everyday table, the best protagonist of summer lunches and dinners with friends. Its softness make it perfect in combination with lightly smoked fish, seafood and early baked goods. It also pairs well with a tomato and basil bruschetta, or summer salads and grilled chicken.
