Aglianico del Vulture DOC D'Angelo
Aglianico del Vulture DOC produced by D'Angelo winery is obtained from Aglianico 100% grapes, cultivated in the traditional production area of this DOC: Rionero in Vulture. The wine is vinified following the traditional method, with maceration of 8 days and subsequent aging for about 20 months in traditional barrels.
It has a ruby red colour, which turns to garnet undertones with aging. The bouquet is typical of the grape variety, characterized by intense notes of red berries. In the mouth it is dry, full-bodied, with lively tannins when young and more rounded over time, reaching an exceptional harmony with the years. Its aging potential is estimated around 10-15 years. We recommend serving it at a temperature of 18-20 °C.

In Basilicata D'Angelo winery represents the history of the Aglianico del Vulture. It was born around the 1930s, thanks to the intuition of Rocco D'Angelo, grandfather of current holders Erminia and Rocco D'Angelo, sons of Lucio D'Angelo. The winemaking activity originally included the export to Northern Italy of fresh Aglianico grapes, in order to allow blends with the Northern red wines, usually characterized by light body and scarce color. In 1971 with the attribution of D.O.C.
