Barolo Cannubi DOCG Damilano
Cannubi is considered the Grand Cru of Barolo, an extraordinary wine in terms of style and elegance. The Barolo Cannubi produced by Damilano winery is a perfect example of it. The Nebbiolo grapes are of the highest quality possible and they come from the hill of Cannubi, the flagship of the company. The qualitative prestige of the grapes coming from this hill is determined by the particular composition of the soil: it is, in fact, the only area in the entire Barolo production zone, in which the soils of Tortonian and Elvezian origin belongs at different geological ages. The soil where the vineyards of Damilano are located has a high percentage of sand (up to 45%), of clay and limestone, which spread in the bunches of Nebbiolo unique features in terms of particular finesse and elegance. The wine ferments at a controlled temperature for 20 days, ages 24 months in large barrels with another 12 months of aging in bottle.
Damilano's Barolo Cannubi presents a ruby-red garnet colour. Ample and enchanting aromas that seduce the nose through evident pulpy notes of cherry and ripe plum, rose and violet in evolution. Smoked tobacco scents, combined with licorice and cocoa. In the mouth it is pleasantly dry, full-bodied and harmonic, with soft tannins. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 16-17 °C.
