Cornalin Valle d'Aosta DOC
Cornalin is a native grape from Valle d'Aosta very widespread in this region in the past, then abandoned at the time of phylloxera, risking to disappear. From just over a decade began its re-evaluation by wineries that believed in the potential of the vine, giving life to sensational wines. Among the companies that have always believed in this great native grape there is La Source, that cultivates Cornalin grapes in Saint-Pierre area. After harvesting and de-stemming, the grapes ferment at a controlled temperature of 26-28 °C, with a maceration of about 8-10 days on the skins. The racking takes place at the end of alcoholic fermentation. The malolactic fermentation and refinement are carried out completely in steel, after which the wine ages in bottle for about 6 months.
Dry red wine with a red colour. Very fragrant nose, elegantly fruity: small red fruit and undergrowth notes, with floral and light spices hints to complete the precious olfactory stucture. Very pleasant harmonic palate, it is an easy to drink wine. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 16-18 ° C.

Chosen for you
La Source is a young winery founded in 2003 by the will of some young farmers and which is led with enthusiasm by Stefano Celi, an agronomist and a descendant of a family with a long winemaking tradition. The vineyards, partly owned and partly rented, are scattered in the municipalities of Quart, Aosta, Sarre, Aymavilles and Villeneuve, with a major portion on the bottom of the hill Towers in Saint-Pierre. Except in the case of syrah, conche in the area, and the chardonnay, the vineyards are quite young: a great potential for further growth in the future.
