Pascena Moscadello di Montalcino DOC Vendemmia Tardiva
Moscadello is a wine with deep historic roots dating back to the Renaissance. During that period, it was considered a “divine” wine dedicated to the “dames of Paris…” The history of the region is intricately intertwined with this sweet nectar of the gods, still widely considered decadent and divine in present day. It is opulent yet vibrant, achieving a delicate balance between lush apricot, peach and tangerine notes and a refreshing acidity.
It has a bright and shining gold colour. Intense and persistent with hints of ripe and candied fruit well balanced with the aromas of Muscat. Excellent balance between the acidity and the sugar concentration. Long and pleasant aftertaste with evident aromatic notes of the cultivar. We suggest to serve it at 12 °C.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
Perfect Food Matching? Delicious on its own, this seductive wine pairs beautifully with savory dishes, like blue cheese and foie gras, as well as fresh fruit, pastries and cookies.
Col d’Orcia is one of the oldest established wineries of Montalcino. The archaeological excavations show that the slopes of Orcia River were inhabited since the Etruscans, over 2500 years ago. Some olive trees among the Brunello vineyards prove all favourable conditions of Col d'Orcia’s climate and soil for growing grapes and olives.
