Santa Lucia Bardolino DOC Superiore
Santa Lucia Bardolino DOC Superiore is a red wine produced by Cavalchina winery and made from 60% Corvina, 25% Rondinella, 15% Marzemino and Barbera grapes. The harvest generally takes place around mid-October, as the grapes ripen late. After destemming, grapes ferment with regular pumping overs and daily déléstages for about 12-15 days with high temperatures and subsequently lower at around 18-20 °C. Once malolactic fermentation has been carried out, Corvina and Rondinella refine in medium barrels for about 1 year, while Marzemino and Barbera ages in barriques. Once assembled, the wine completes its refinement in the bottle before being realesed.
Santa Lucia has an intense ruby-red colour. On the nose emerge hints of spices and cherries, which are typical of Corvina and Rondinella. They blend with the colour and structure of Marzemino and Barbera's acid vein to give a multi-faceted wine. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 16-18 °C.

Chosen for you
Cavalchina is the name of the district where the winery is located, probably after the residence of the Conte Cavalchini. It is on the southeast border of the Garda amphitheatre dating from the end of the Ice Age. The Azienda Agricola Cavalchina was created in the early 1900s with the purchase of the first vineyards. Later the cellar was built and originally included a distillery, which was in use until 1967.
