Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva Carpineto
Features
Description
In the beautiful olive and cypress-studded countryside between Florence and Siena lay the quaint hilltop villages of the Chianti Classico region. This Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva made by Carpineto winery is produced exclusively in this charming and beautiful area, from vineyards planted to a minimum of 80% Sangiovese and a maximum of 20% of Canaiolo and other red grape varietals. After maceration of the skins, the must is fermented under controlled temperature conditions and the wine is placed in oak barrels of various sizes and origins (Slavonian and French) for more than 1 year. Then, it is briefly transferred back into stainless steel tanks before bottling. After bottling, the wine is aged in temperature controlled cellars for at least 10 months before release. In order to deliver the highest quality Carpineto has chosen to age this wine longer than the 2 years required by appellation rules for a Riserva.
TASTING NOTES
This Chianti Classico Riserva shows an intense ruby red colour with garnet undertones. The perfume is elegant, full, harmonious and persistent, with hints of vanilla and raspberry; the flavour is long and velvety, generous and warm. An excellent, high-class Tuscan Chianti wine. We recommend serving it at a temperature of 18-20 °C, taking care to clear the bottle at least half an hour before serving.

Carpineto
Founded in 1967, Carpineto is a partnership between Giovanni C. Sacchet and Antonio M. Zaccheo, whose original mission was to produce a world-class red wine from the Chianti Classico appellation. This was a radical departure from the marketplace of the times when most Chianti was still produced in the traditional winemaking style. Carpineto’s visionary founders recognized the untapped potential of the Tuscan landscape to produce truly great wines. By applying modern viticulture and winemaking techniques, they dramatically exceeded the quality standards of the day.
