Nero D'Avola BIO Vegan Cantine Nicosia
The organic and vegan Nero d'Avola produced by Cantine Nicosia is dedicated to those who follow a natural lifestyle and to all wine lovers who care about respecting biodiversity. It is the result of an intense research work in the vineyard and in the cellar, obtained from 100% Nero d'Avola grapes grown using only vegetable substances. It has a very low level of sulfites and are certified as Biological Wines and obtained the BIO VEGAN certification by ICEA. The maceration and fermentation take place for about 10-15 days at a controlled temperature of 22-24 °C. The wine refines exclusively in steel and further 2-3 months in the bottle.
Intense ruby red colour with violet undertones. The bouquet presents a rich aroma with notes of cherry, raspberry and plum. In the mouth it is soft, structured and persistent, with red fruit effusions such as cherry and raspberry and a characteristic plum aroma. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 16-18 °C.

This Nero d'Avola by Cantine Nicosia is an excellent biovegan red wine to combine with spicy foods, vegetable couscous, pasta timbales and with tomato sauce, in addition to other typical dishes of Mediterranean cuisine.
Cantine Nicosia was founded in 1898 by Francesco Nicosia, great-grandfather of the current owner, who opened a wine shop in Trecastagni, on the eastern side of Etna. Golden times for the Etna wine, that was already known and appreciated throughout Europe for its mineral strength and its "volcanic" personality.
