Description

"Il BIO" is a 100% Carignano del Sulcis, produced by Biomar Tenuta La Sabbiosa winery. The grapes come from ancient vines, estimated between 70 and 100 years old, which grow in vineyards overlooking the sea in Calasetta, on the northern part of the island of Sant'Antioco in the Sulcis archipelago (Sardinia). After a careful harvest, the wine ferments in accio at a controlled temperature of 25-28 °C, with frequent pumping overs and déléstages, to ensure a good extraction of the coloring and aromatic components present in the skins. It completes its refinement in steel tanks.

TASTING NOTES

This Carignano del Sulcis has an intense ruby ​​red colour. Rich and complex bouquet, fruity with elegant balsamic notes of Mediterranean scrub typical of the production area. Of great structure, well-balanced, warm and enchanting flavours; it is persistent and soft in the mouth, with pleasant tannins. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 16-18 °C. The possible presence of small natural residues, which do not alter the quality of the wine, express the choice of the company not to exceed with processing and stabilization, so as not to alter the natural characteristics of the product.

Biomar winery is located on the island of Sant’Antioco, in the extreme south-west of the beautiful and wild Sardinia. An island of the island that until the eighties was literally covered with vineyards of Carignano cultivated with saplings and that grew up to the beaches, among the dunes and junipers, on sandy soils and ridges whipped all year by strong mistral winds.
