Sophia Fiano Basilicata IGT BIO
Basilisco has dedicated to the only white wine of the company the name of a woman, "Sophia", coming from Greek origins ("Σοφία"), which means "knowledge", that is what represents wine. This white from Basilicata is made of 100% Fiano grapes, vinified in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with contact on fine lees and frequent batonnage.
Straw yellow colour with greenish undertones. The fresh bouquet reminds fresh flowers like roses and fresh yellow fruits, sometimes hazelnut. On the palate it is young, fresh and humorous, aromatic and evocative. The sip is gently spicy and . We recommend serving it at a temperature of 10-12 °C.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
Thanks to the fullness of its body and its perfume, it is the ideal wine to pair with rich fish dishes, such as seafood risotto, white meat, poultry and grilled vegetables. Great for accompanying fresh summer salads and soft dough cheeses.
Chosen for you
The winery Basilisco, since its start in the early 90s, aimed at the highest quality both in the vineyards and in the wine making thus becoming in a short time a pearl in the Southern Italian scenario. In 2011 Feudi di San Gregorio, the leading winery in the South of Italy and present in the Vulture region for over ten years, decided to start a project reclaiming its ancient tuff stone caves in the “Shesh”, the historic Park of cellars of Barile, and revamping this ancestral context. This move was animated by the firm belief in the uniqueness of this extraordinary viticulture area.
