Lu Patri Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC
Rich in flavourful contrasts, the Baglio del Cristo di Campobello's Lu Patri is an excellent representation of Nero d'Avola. It is a wine born in 2000 in the 6 hectares of vineyard owned by the winery. Purity and sublimation. The reward of work.
Nero d'Avola grapes are harvested between the second and third decade of September by hand. After further selection in the cellar, thewy are softly destemmed and crushed with frequent pumping overs. The must macerates for about 18 days at a controlled temperature. The wine ages in French oak barrels (Nevers, Tronçais, Allier - 1/3 of them new from 225lt.) and it completes its refinement in the bottle for at least 12 months before release.
Intense and persistent. It opens with a nose of ripe fruit and jam. Aromas of amarena, of cherries, blackberries and myrtle together with spicy hints of tobacco, carob, vanilla, nutmeg, liquorice, cacao, cardamom and cinnamon. There are minerals too, and echoes of balsamic resins and dried juniper berries, as well as floral notes of roses, peonies and violets. It enters the mouth smoothly, with a soft fresh acid vibration and decisive but smooth tannins. Intense and persistent, just the slightest bit sapid. Fine aromatic expression. Rich in contrasting nuances. It closes with spices and fruits with a balsamic finish. It leaves behind an echo of sour cherry and sweet tobacco. The ageing potential of this wie is estimated over 10 years. We suggest serving it at 18-20 °C, taking care to uncork the bottle at least half an hour before serving.

Baglio del Cristo di Campobello
Immaculate Bonetta’s vineyards.
They are found all around the wonderful Baglio, on the low hills of limestone/gypsum in this portion of Campobello (Licata), where the Mediterranean refreshing breeze comes in the evening, precisely from the side facing Licata.
Grillo, Inzolia and Chardonnay are the white grapes that characteze great wines, such as Adènzia Bianco, Lalùci and Laudàri; while Nero d'Avola, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are the red grapes that give life to Lusirà and Lu Patri.
