La Groletta Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Corte Giara
La Groletta Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Corte Giara is an Amarone produced by Allegrini on the estate of Corte Giara. It expresses all the aromas, roundness and maturity of the best Valpolicella grapes. It is made from 70% Corvina Veronese and 30% Rondinella grapes, vinified according to the traditional method of grapes drying, typical of this territory. After the manual harvesting of selected grapes, which is usually carried out in the second half of September, grapes are de-stemmed and softly crushed before being subjected to fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. The wine remains in stainless steel for 5 months, before being transferred to wood for another 15 months (half in Slavonian oak barrels, half in second passage barriques). The Amarone completes its refinement in bottle for another 6 months before release.
It has a ruby red colour of excellent intensity, almost covering. On the nose, the red fruit aroma is overripe, but still crunchy and fleshy. In the background there are spicy notes, especially pepper and cloves, followed by mineral hints and a deep nuance of tobacco. Full, enchanting and velvety taste. The body, which is imposing and solid, manages to maintain an elegant and silky profile thanks to the perfect and balanced acidity, sweet and perfectly melted tannins. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 16 °C.
