Lagrein Abbazia di Novacella
Lagrein of Abbazia di Novacella winery is a powerful red wine, produced from 100% Lagrein grapes, cultivated in Mariaheim - San Quirino (Bolzano). Grapes are harvested in early October. Vinification takes place in stainless steel, with maceration on the skins for about 15 days, followed by malolactic fermentation at about 28 °C with natural and selected yeasts. The wine matures for about 6 months in oak barrels of 60hl and refines in bottle for another 2 months.
This Lagrein is red ruby red ruby red with a violet gleam when young. Pleasant with a heady violet nose and undertones of woods and musk. Full-bodied and velvety on the palate.. We suggest to serve it at a temperature of 14 °C.
