Masone Mannu is one of the most important wineries in Gallura, located a few kilometers from Olbia (Sardinia), immersed in an extraordinary landscape of cork oaks, rivers, lakes and woods of Mediterranean scrub. The ancient Logudorese name "Masone Mannu" means "great property", which in fact extends over almost 100 hectares, of which about 20 are planted with specialized vineyards. It is a fairly young company, but it has immediately shown an excellent qualitative path. From 2018 the estate is the subject of an important development project led by Giordano Emendatori, already owner of the biodynamic Tenuta Mara in Emilia-Romagna. Everything is based on a careful work in the vineyard and a simple vinification, devoted to enhancing the particular Gallura soil.
In Masone Mannu's vineyard, Vermentino di Gallura is the main cultivated grape variety, toeghet with other native grapes, such as Cannonau, Carignano and Bovale Sardo and the international Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, which enrich the local varieties. Sea wind, vineyards exposure and the rich surrounding nature help to cultivate healthy grapes without the use of pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers.
