Donnachiara

Donnachiara winery is located on a wonderful hill on the slopes of Montefalcione, in the province of Avellino. Here Fiano vineyards are surrounded by the ancient hamlets and the splendid mountains of Montevergine and Chiusano, rich in chestnut, oak and juniper woods that alternate with olive, vine and fruit trees. Since the beginning, the management of Donnachiara company has almost been entirely female. The name, in fact, is a great tribute to the noblewoman Donna Chiara Mazzarelli Petitto, who was born in 1883: she was the one who carried out the family business in place of her husband, Antonio Pettito, who was working as doctor during the two World Wars.

Today the modern winery is in the hands of Ilaria Petitto, supported by her mother Chiara, who's Donna Chiara's niece. Now as then, the family business is focused on enhaancing the three main Irpinian DOCG produtions: Fiano di Avellino, Taurasi and Greco di Tufo, as well as the traditional Aglianico and Falanghina. Five generations of experience in quality wine means a wealth of knowledge, care and attachment to one's work that go beyond the mere economic return of any project. The passion for their work, the love for their products also affect the collaborators and therefore there is a very strong sharing of values within the company. Petitto family's philosophy is expressed in the winery as well as in the other companies of the Petitto Group, through the pursuit of extreme quality, also supported by the famous oenologist Riccardo Cotarella.

Alongside the quality of the products, Donnachiara also emphasizes the importance of sensitivity in protecting the environment. The Montefalcione farm is the only one in Irpinia to be included in the list of stories of eco-sustainable companies.
