Barbera D'Alba DOC Tenuta Cucco
Tenuta Cucco's Barbera d'Alba DOC is made from 100% Barbera grapes, grown in the vineyards owned by the winery, in Roddi d'Alba. The freshly harvested grapes are de-stemmed, delicately crushed and placed in horizontal rotary vats for fermentation at 18 °C, in order to extract at best Barbera's primary typical aromas. Fermentation takes place at a temperature of 26°C and then the drawing-off, once fermentation is completed. After few pouringius the malolactic fermentation takes place. The wine ages in steel.
This Piedmontese red wine has a ruby red color with rich violet hues. Perfumes are winey at first, sometimes resemble the must during fermentation; once rested it will show intense and persistent floral notes, rose, freshly picked fruit, currants and sour black cherry. The mouth feel acidity is just slightly pronounced that dissolves in the sweet fruitiness. The finish is long and enlightens a mature and pulpy fruit. We recommend serving it at 16-17 °C.
