Vigneto Monte Sant’Urbano Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
Undisputed symbol of Speri winery, Vigneto Monte Sant’Urbano Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG is a superb example of a fine, traditional Amarone wine. It is an extraordinary wine with great complexity and a vigorous structure, which has always been at Top for its elegance and high-quality value.
This Amarone is obtained from Corvina Veronese and Corvinone 70%, Rondinella 25%, Molinara 5%. After a careful selection of the best bunces from the prestigious Monte Sant'Urbano vineyard, the grapes are dried for a long time (usually 100 days) to achieve the optimal softness and sugar level, which are typical of the wine itself. The grapes are then de-stimmed and after a steel maceration of about 35 days at 16-18 °C, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation is performed in oak barrels. The obtained wine ages in 500 lt tonneaux of Allier oak for about 24 months and 12 months in larger barrels before moving into the bottle.
This Amarone shows a deep red garnet colour, with scents of dried red fruits, dried plum, licorice and spices. The palate reveals a warm, dry and enveloping taste, expressing a unique elegance. It is delicate but at the same time vigorous. We recommend serving it at a temperature of 18 °C.
