Maramia Sangiovese Rubicone IGT BIO
Maramia is the ace of Sangiovese wines of Tenuta Mara winery. It comes from Romagna, born in the hills of San Clemente nearby Rimini, and it pays tribute to the great modern reds created according to the dictates of biodynamic agriculture. After a manual harvest in 12kg boxes usually carried out in the second half of September, the grapes arrive in the cellar for manual selection and sorting. By fall, all grapes reach the conical oak vats: without temperature control and without the addition of selected yeasts, the must concludes its fermentation macerating on the skins for about 1 month. Finally, Maramia evolves on its fine lees for 16 months in small French oak barrels and tonneaux. It follows a period of refinement before the release.
Sangiovese Maramia is a brilliant clear ruby red wine. The nose expresses notes of raspberry, blackberry and cherry with hints of vanilla and ginger. Great personality, with surprising balance between taste and persistence, with pleasant balsamic notes in the background. The sip is so satisfying, that the empty glass asks for more wine. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 16-18 °C.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
Maramia Sangiovese Rubicone IGT pairs perfectly with white and wild meat, such as lamb chops or roasted chicken.
Chosen for you
We had a clear idea of how the area that would accommodate the Tenuta Mara should be. On the Adriatic coast, at 200 km South of Venice and 350 Km North of Rome close to the charming hill town San Clemente,on the Province of Rimini, we found what we had in mind. Minimize the interference of man, banish all that is not natural and stubbornly seek spontaneity. This is the non interventional Biodynamic method that we have decided to adopt. The grapes that grow at Tenuta Mara are untreated therefore healthy and genuine.
