Poggio alla Guardia Vigne Alte Maremma Toscana DOC
Poggio alla Guardia Vigne Alte is a medium-bodied red Tuscan wine, made from the grapes that grow closer to the Rocca di Frassinello winery. It is a blend of 40% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Syrah and it differs from the original Poggio alla Guardia for a slight add of Syrah grapes that give the wine a note of elegance and fullness. The harvest takes place within a late August (Merlot), and mid-September (Sangiovese, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon). After maceration and malolactic fermentation in steel, the wine is aged in cement for 12 months and returned to the bottle for another 4 months. An unusual wine from Rocca di Frassinello, as it is the only label that doesn't age in barrique but in steel, for a wine of great immediacy and drinkability.
Poggio alla Guardia Vigne Alte has an intense purple colour with purple undertones. Intense, full and concentrated bouquet. Strong personality, elegant and full spicy notes. We suggest serving at a temperature of 16-18 °C.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
