Rosso di Montalcino DOC La Poderina
Rosso di Montalcino DOC produced by La Poderina estate, which is part of Tenute del Cerro Group, is a Tuscan red wine made from 100% Sangiovese Groosso grapes, grown in the vineyards owned by the winery, on the south-east slope of Castelnuovo dell'Abate in Montalcino. After a manual harvest, the grapes macerate in steel tanks for 10-12 days at a controlled temperature of 24-26 °C with daily pumpings over. After racking, the wine is transferred in steel vats for a period of aging of about 10 months, followed by a few months in the bottle.
This Rosso di Montalcino has a ruby red colour. On the nose, small red fruits: hints of blackberries and cherries, followed by a pleasant hint of vanilla. Good body and gustatory balance, supported by a slightly tannic texture. Good aromatic persistence on the finish. It can age up to 5 years if well preserved. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 18 °C in medium-sized glasses.
