Antaniolo Roero DOCG Riserva
The Roero Riserva DOCG Antaniolo of Pelassa winery is a wine made from 100% Nebbiolo (varieties Michet, Lampia, Rosé) grown in vineyards owned by the winery. After a manual harvest from 5th to 20th October, the grapes are subjected to the traditional vinification with fermentation of about 15 days at 26 °C. De-stemming, soft pressing; the must is reassembled with the system of dèlastage, in order to maximize the extraction of color and varietal aromas. After malolactic fermentation the wine passes into barrels of Slavonian oak and French barrels, with weekly topping up the level and taste tests, to ensure the finest evolution of the wine. Finally, the wine is aged 30 months, including 18 in barrels, tonnneax and 12 in bottle.
Antaniolo Roero DOCG Riserva is a wine with ruby red colour; on the nose it is fragrant, chacarcterized by fruity scents of strawberry, cherry and spicy notes of liquorice in the background. In the mouth is dry, firm, tannic and full.

"In April 1950, I was not yet ten years old. We were six brothers, my mother was gone and our family was very modest. Then, I realized that it was time to help out, so one morning I got up early, tapped some flasks of Nebbiolo, I took the bike, cycling towards Turin... a man suggested me to go to Superga hill, where I would find people who could appreciate the valuable thing I was carrying with me... I still remember the expression of awe, as generous and elegant could be a wine.
