Montecorna Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Classico Superiore
Montecorna is a Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore DOC wine produced by Farina winery on the hills of Valpolicella Classica in San Pietro in Cariano (Masua / Montecorna). This red wine is made from native Veronese grapes (70% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella, 5% Molinara) and thanks to a refermentation according to the traditional technique of "ripasso" on the pomace of Amarone and young Valpolicella, it acquires greater body and stronger perfumes. The wine ages 50% Slavonian oak barrels and 50% in barriques, with a subsequent refinement in the bottle.
Intense ruby red colour. The nose is complex: aromas of red fruits, including notes of black cherry and plum jam, with slight spicy hints of vanilla, leather and toasted coffee. Captivating, compact but refined and harmonious taste. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 16-18 °C.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
Montecorna Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore DOC by Farina winery is a refined Venetian red wine and a valid alternative to the more expensive Amarone. Excellent when paired with roasts, braised meat, game and aged cheese.
