Sauvignon Collio DOC Marco Felluga
Marco Felluga's Sauvignon is made from 100% Sauvignon grapes, grown around the small town of San Floriano, Oslavia and Cormòns, in the DOC Collio area. After harvesting, grapes are de-stemmed; the juice and the pulp undergo cold maceration and slight pressing that allows separation from the skins. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks. The wine is left to refine for about 6 months on the lees and a few months in the bottle.
Golden yellow colour with greenish hues. Marco Felluga's Collio Sauvignon is a white wine with a good intensity and freshness, characterized by a fresh bouquet of sage, green pepper and elderberry. It has a good acid note, giving freshness and flavour on the palate. Good structure and balance. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 10 °C.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
The ideal food matching for this white wine from Collio are vegetable appetizers and shellfish dishes. Its aroma makes it perfect to enhance vegetables and ethnic dishes.
More than a century has passed, since the first Felluga crossed his history with wine. The island of Istria was the place of origin of Malvasia and Refosco d'Istria productions. Just after the Great War, the family get to the other side of the gulf, to Grado and then in Friuli.
