Peppoli Chianti Classico
The grapes for this wine made by Antinori Family grow in the vineyards of the Pèppoli estate. The wine is a classic Chianti made with Sangiovese grapes to which a small amount of Merlot and Syrah is added, and produced to be the ideal expression of the fruit. It is first put in 55 hectolitre barrels of Slovenian wood and 10% in American oak barriques where it rests for not more than 9 months, and then further aged in the bottle.
A ruby red colour, Pèppoli imparts hints of cherries well blended with touches of chocolate and vanilla, which come from the wood it aged in. Once in the mouth, the wine imparts all the characteristics of Sangiovese. The tannins are soft and silky, the finish round and persistent. We recommend serving it at a temperature of 14-18 °C.

The Antinori family has been involved in the production of wine for over six centuries, ever since, in 1385, Giovanni di Piero Antinori entered as a member, the “Arte Fiorentina”, the Winemakers’ Guild of the city of Florence. During this entire long period, thorough twenty six generations, the family has always directly managed this work with courageous and, at times, innovative decisions, but always maintaining, unaltered, a fundamental respect for tradition and for the territory in which they have operated.
