Gamay Valle d'Aosta DOC
La Source's Gamay is a red wine from Aosta Valley, obtained from the homonymous French grape variety, cultivated on the hills of Aosta. The harvest is usually carried out in the first half of October and it is manual, in order to carefully select only the best grapes in the vineyard. After destemming, the grapes ferment in steel at a controlled temperature of about 28 °C, for the duration of maceration. The must remains in contact with the skins for 6-8 days, after which it is racked. Malolactic fermentation takes place in steel and the wine is finally refined on fine lees for a few months.
It has an intense ruby red colour with violet hues. On the nose the parfumes are characterized by notes of ripe red fruits and cherries, together with delicate herbaceous scents on a persistent spicy background. In the mouth it is rich and pleasantly fruity. Dry and full-bodied taste. The balanced alcohol, its freshness and good intensity make it an easy to drink wine. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 15-16 °C.

Chosen for you
La Source is a young winery founded in 2003 by the will of some young farmers and which is led with enthusiasm by Stefano Celi, an agronomist and a descendant of a family with a long winemaking tradition. The vineyards, partly owned and partly rented, are scattered in the municipalities of Quart, Aosta, Sarre, Aymavilles and Villeneuve, with a major portion on the bottom of the hill Towers in Saint-Pierre. Except in the case of syrah, conche in the area, and the chardonnay, the vineyards are quite young: a great potential for further growth in the future.
