Nebbiolo D'Alba DOC
Fratelli Serio e Battista Borgogno's Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC is a Piedmontese red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, grown in the area of Castellinaldo, Diano d'Alba. The must ferments with cap of about 12 days in wooden vats, with frequent pumping over. Malolactic fermentation taks place in steel barrels, while aging in barrels of 2500-5000 liters of Slavonian oak. The time of wood aging is variable and follows the needs of the individual vintages. After bottling, the wine is placed horizontally for about six months.
Nebbiolo d'Alba has a ruby red colour with garnet tones given by aging. On the nose, ample and fragrant aromas of raspberry and jam. In the mouth it is round, showing elegant tannin in balance with the fruit. It recalls notes of plum, spices and tobacco and over time acquires increasingly spicy essences. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 18-20 °C.
