THE IDEAL WINES TO PAIR WITH PASTA

Knowing how to combine the right wine with Italian pasta is not for everyone, then here are our recommendations to choose the best wines to pair with pasta. All your attention must focus on the type of sauce or seasoning, in order to get the right wine-pasta matching. If you will cook vegetable pasta, prefer light white wines that enhances the delicate aromas of the dish, such as Soave or Greco di Tufo. If you go crazy for pasta with pesto, basil is a hard nut because it is very aromatic: better a glass of Friulano or Grillo. The traditional pasta with ragù meat sauce pairs perfectly with full-bodied red wines, like Sangiovese, Montepulciano or even Aglianico if the sauce is made of wild boar. For a classic spaghetti with tomato sauce, given the acidity of these vegetables, you can try a medium-bodied Primitivo wine. With baked pastas (such as Lasagne) pair a bottle of Merlot or a more typical Tuscan Chianti Classico, while if you serve cappelletti or tortellini in broth, go for Barbera or even Sangiovese wines.
