Piano di Montevergine Taurasi DOCG Riserva
Piano di Montevergine Taurasi DOCG Riserva is born in a vineyard of Aglianico grapes which is the symbol of Feudi di San Gregorio winery. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration take place in steel tanks for about 3-4 weeks, while the wines ageing is carried out in French oak barriques and 50 hl medium-toasted barrels for about 18-24 months. This Taurasi DOCG Riserva ages at least 24 months in bottle before release.
Piano di Montevergine shows a deep ruby red colour. The nose expresses fruity scents of blackberry, plum and cherry, together with balsamic and spicy notes. The flavour is mellow, enveloping, slightly mineral and well-balanced, with good tannic structure and quite persistent finish. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 18-20 °C.
