Vigna di Gabri Sicilia DOC
Vigna di Gabri is the cru wanted by Gabriella Anca Rallo, founder of Donnafugata winery together with her husband. Vigna di Gabri is a Sicilian white wine obtained from a blend of Ansonica with Catarratto, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. grapes. It is excellent for the entire meal, versatile and very enjoyable.
After harvesting, fermentation takes place in steel at 15-16 °C, followed by 85% refinement in tank for about 4 months and 15% on noble lees in French oak barrels of second passage, finally futher 8 months in bottle before being on the market.
"Vigna di Gabri" is not a fancy name, because the wine bears the name of Gabriella Anca Rallo who created it, believing in the enchanting fragrance of the Ansonica perfumes. The graphic design, renewed on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary, is precious and elegant, and fully reflects the character of the wine.
Vigna di Gabri presents a brilliant straw yellow colour with light greenish undertones. The bouquet is intense and ranges from hints of white-pulp fruit to citrus and grapefruit notes, revealing delicate floral sensations, aromatic herbs and honey scents. On the palate it is fresh and elegant, with a pleasant mineral finish that lengthens its persistence. A fine and elegant white wine, with an intriguing personality and surprising longevity, estimated up to 10-12 years. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 10-12 °C.
