Nearco Sant’Antimo Rosso DOC
The Mediterranean climate, the Montalcino “terroir”, the nobility of Merlot, Cabernet and Syrah, the knowledge and the passion of those who have been looking after vineyards and producing wine ever since. This is how Nearco was born.
On the gentle southern hillsides of Montalcino, embedded in the middle of austere Brunello vineyards, one can find the plots dedicated to the great international varieties that made the Tuscan reds so famous. Real “cru”, where Un vero “cru”, dove 50 % Merlot, 30% Cabernet, 15% Syrah, 5% Petit Verdot have found ideal growing conditions to express their celebrated class at its best.
Nearco is vinified with these grapes, fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. About 20 days of maceration at a controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation takes place in concrete tanks. Separate ageing of the varieties and lots for 12 months in French oak barrels. It can be considered a new wine of great impact and structure, where the softness of the Merlot is married perfectly with the power of the Cabernet and the spicy fruit of the Syrah.
Intense ruby red, with brilliant violet hues. Bouquet: IIntense and harmonic with clear notes of ripe fruits enhanced by the aromas of spices and vanilla originating from the oak. Flavour: Fully structured, with ripe and persistent tannins. The aftertaste is sapid and pleasant reminding the typical aromas of the barriques. We suggest to serve it at 18 °C.

Col d’Orcia is one of the oldest established wineries of Montalcino. The archaeological excavations show that the slopes of Orcia River were inhabited since the Etruscans, over 2500 years ago. Some olive trees among the Brunello vineyards prove all favourable conditions of Col d'Orcia’s climate and soil for growing grapes and olives.
