Gineprone Chianti DOCG
The name Gineprone refers to the aromatic herb Juniper and indicates how this Chianti from the Siena hills reminds the drinker of all the herbs and spices that are typical of the Mediterranean underwood. Complex and full bodied yet approachable and fruity, Gineprone is the Montalcino version of the Chianti wine that has made Tuscany famous around the world. This wine is a blend of Sangiovese 90% and international grapes (10%), which age a few months in Slavonian oak barrels and about 4 months in bottle.
Intense and bright ruby red colour, the bouquet is strong and fruity with clear hints of ripe fruits, well balanced with the oak aromas. Full and balanced, provided with a good structure. The aftertaste is long and pleasantly fruity. We suggest to serve it at 18 °C.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
The Chianti DOCG Gineprone is a perfect Tuscan red for everyday table. It combines well with Tuscan cuisine, from classic bruchetta with extra virgin olive oil, to soups, "panzanella" salad or croutons with liver paté.
Col d’Orcia is one of the oldest established wineries of Montalcino. The archaeological excavations show that the slopes of Orcia River were inhabited since the Etruscans, over 2500 years ago. Some olive trees among the Brunello vineyards prove all favourable conditions of Col d'Orcia’s climate and soil for growing grapes and olives.
