BARBERA D'ASTI DOCG

Barbera d'Asti DOCG is an Italian wine classification established in 2008 (while Nizza Barbera DOCG in 2014) and it has contributed to the revival of an undoubtedly valid a grape type from Piedmont: Barbera. Thanks to quality producers, it has been demonstrated over time that the Barbera wines grown in the Asti-Alessandria area in Piedmont are red wines with a rich personality and amazing drinkability, with a slightly high acid component that facilitates the sip. The precursor of Barbera's recovery was Giacomo Bologna (also konwn as "Braida"), inaugurating a true model of quality from low yields of vines and the use of French small oak barrels. Barbera d'Asti is an aromatic wine with a fresher but austere taste compared to Barbera d'Alba and if vintage it is exquisitely drinkable.
