Stupore Bolgheri DOC Campo alle Comete
Campo alle Comete winery is located at the foot of Castagneto Carducci, the only village includend in the prestigious Bolgheri DOC classification. From here comes "Stupore", a wine that best represents the uniqueness of this unique territory in Tuscany. The blend is made from international grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot. The vinification of the various grapes takes place separately, with alcoholic fermentation and maceration in steel tanks for about 3 weeks. Then, 10 months of ageing in new and second-passage medium-toasted French oak barrels and tonneaux. Before being on the market, the wine is further refined in the bottle for another 6 months.
Stupore shows an intense and deep ruby red colour. It opens to the nose with fruity scents of fresh plum and hints of cherry that intertwine with sweet and toasted notes of cocoa. Balsamic aromas of eucalyptus emerge, reminiscent of the Mediterranean scrub. In the mouth the wine is soft and well-balanced, with fruity notes that fascinate the palate. The aftertaste is persistent with savory and fresh finish. We suggest serving it at 18-20 °C.
