Mezzodì Bolgheri Bianco DOC
"Mezzodì" means Midday in Italian. The name is inspired by a Gabriele d’Annunzio poem which alludes to the time when even the shade is hot, and when the sun rays are imprisoned in the grapes. Mezzodì is a white wine from Bolgheri, produced by Batzella winery and made from 70% Vermentino and 30% Viognier grapes. After the manual harvest, the grapes come to the cellar for a traditional white vinification. The grapes ferment in steel and are aged for 80% in stainless steel and 20% in new French oak barrels for 6 months. The wine is transferred to the bottle and completes its aging for another 6 months in bottle before it is sold.
Mezzodì has an intense straw yellow colour. The nose gradually evolves from fruity tones of yellow and white peach to citrus of grapefruit. In the mouth it is fresh, exuberant, with a good and balanced acidity. Full correspondence of the aromas in the mouth, excellent body and persistent, long finish, which closes mineral. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 10-12 °C.
